Background
I was invited by the Bank of Culture to create the promotional film for the exhibition of Taiwan National Treasures initiated by the Ministry of Culture. As part of the opening project, my task was to translate the curatorial vision into a cinematic narrative that would connect the public to the cultural depth and value of these national treasures.
Concept
Inspired by the exhibition theme “light and shadow,” I envisioned Taiwan’s national treasures as an accumulation of time, shaped by layered colonial and cultural influences. Like waves washing over the island and creating shifting reflections, Taiwan’s complex history refracts into diverse shades of light. These waves crystallize into unique artifacts, as a carrier of our history and culture, they shaped the beauty of this land.
Impact
The exhibition opened the Taiwan National Treasures Pavilion, organized by the Ministry of Culture’s Bureau of Cultural Heritage. Featuring 29 national treasures and key antiquities, it used multimedia to highlight the symbolism of light and shadow. With media reports, social media promotion, and strong engagement on Behance, the combined estimated reach exceeded 150,000 views and interactions. Although no official visitor count was released, the exhibition was recognized in the Bureau’s annual report as a milestone.
